What is Multi-Location Comparison?
Multi-Location Comparison is an exclusive Pro feature that allows you to view and compare conditions across all your saved locations simultaneously. Instead of checking each spot individually, you get a comprehensive side-by-side view showing which location offers the best conditions for your target date.
The tool compares solunar ratings, weather quality scores, pressure patterns, temperature ranges, and peak period timing across up to 20 locations at once. This data-driven approach eliminates guesswork and helps you consistently choose the most productive spots.
What Gets Compared
- Solunar Ratings
Compare base solunar scores and weather-enhanced ratings to see which location has the strongest lunar influences for your target date.
- Weather Quality Scores
View overall weather favorability at each location, including pressure trends, wind conditions, temperature suitability, and precipitation probability.
- Peak Period Timing
Compare major and minor period schedules across locations - sometimes a nearby spot has better-timed periods for your available hours.
- Composite Rankings
Each location receives a composite score (0-100) combining all factors. Locations are automatically ranked so you can instantly see your best option.
- Distance Consideration
View distance from your current location (if enabled) to factor in travel time and fuel costs when making your decision.
- Historical Patterns
For frequent locations, see historical success correlations and pattern insights that help predict future performance.
Using the Comparison Tool
- 1. Select Your Date
Choose any date within your Pro forecast range (up to 14 days). The tool will pull current data for that date across all saved locations.
- 2. Choose Locations to Compare
Select all locations you want to evaluate (up to 20), or use 'Compare All' to see your entire saved location list at once.
- 3. Review Rankings
Locations are automatically ranked by composite score. The top-ranked location represents your best statistical opportunity for the selected date.
- 4. Analyze Details
Click any location to see detailed breakdowns of why it ranked where it did, including specific weather factors and solunar period analysis.
Smart Decision Strategies
🎯 The "10-Point Rule"
If the top-ranked location scores 10+ points higher than your default spot, it's usually worth the extra drive. A 90-rated location will typically outperform an 80-rated spot significantly enough to justify moderate additional travel.
Example: Your favorite lake scores 72, but a lake 30 minutes further scores 85. The data strongly suggests the drive is worthwhile for that level of improvement.
⏰ Time Window Matching
Look beyond just composite scores. If you can only fish morning hours (6am-10am), prioritize locations with major periods during those times even if the overall daily score is slightly lower.
A location scoring 78 with a 7am major period beats a location scoring 82 with an 11am major period if you must leave by 10am.
Pro Tips
- Save multiple spots at the same general location (north shore vs south shore of a lake) to compare micro-climate differences.
- Run comparisons 2-3 days before your trip and again the morning of - forecasts update constantly and rankings can shift.
- Use the comparison tool to discover which of your spots performs best during specific moon phases or seasons.
- When locations rank very close (within 3-5 points), choose based on non-data factors like fishing pressure, recent success, or personal preference.
